BKM
inaugural program by the new committee was held at the Indian embassy
auditorium on 18th may. BKM members attended the function with their
family and friends, in their colorful traditional dresses and finery
highlighting the theme of the programs.
- FESTIVALS OF TamilNadu: the program started
with a prayer by tiny-tots who mesmerized the audience with their
sweet lilting voices.
- 'TRIBUTE TO BHARATHI', choir by young children
enthralled the audience with Bharathiar songs.
- A dance drama by children' MARGAZHI' depicted
the story of Andal followed by 'Kummi' madethe audience to tap
and clap along with children.
- 'NAVARATHRI' tableau showed the rich cultural
heritage of Tamilnadu.
- Navarathri Golu made the audience to go back
in time to their childhood days.¨ 'EID's loly unfolded the
meaning and traditions behind the celebration
- 'ANNAI VELANKANNI', the most popular festival
of Tamilnadu depicted the miracles
performed by Velankanni and car festival.
- 'CHRISTMAS' swinged the audience sober and
solemn mood of Velankanni to fun & gaity. Santaclaus dancing
to jingle bells tune forced the Audience also to join in the singing.
kids vied with each other to take the gifts from Santaclaus
- 'THALAI DEEPAVALI', a drama by the members
delighted the audience. the artists left the audience to wonder
if they are seasoned professionals
- The entire show was ably compered by Mrs. Jayasree
Venkat in English and Mrs. Ponni
Raman in Tamil.
