Events for the year 2000-2001

Inaugural Program

BKM conducted its first program for the year 2000-2001 on 24th May 2000 at the Indian Embassy Auditorium to a fully packed audience. The program was inaugurated by Mrs.Karuppiah by lighting the Kuthuvilaku.The President Dr. Latha Srinivasan welcomed the chief guests, Mr. Karuppiah, the Minister of the Indian Embassy and Mr. Sampath, the General Manager of Kuwait India International Exchange Company, Kuwait.

The childrens' program depicted patriotism and the audience were moved, and it took a long time for the applause to stop. The directors of these programs Mrs. Sujatha Kesavan, Mrs. Vanaja Srinivasan, Dr. Arul Selvi, Mrs. Mala Sundar, Mrs. Subha Ramabadran and Mrs. Asha Ashok did a wonderful job with the children.

The later half of the program was "Made for Each Other" for the couples which was very hilariously conducted by Mr. T.R.Bala and Mrs. Gayathri Muralirajan. The new office bearers were introduced to the audience by the Patron Mr. Senthamil Arasu. The Tamil Teachers, Mr. N.Subbaraman, Mrs. Asha Ashok, Mrs. Vyjayanthimala Rajamani, and Dr. Arul Selvi were honored for the wonderful job of teaching Tamil to children in their spare time.

Vote of thanks was delivered by the Secretary, Mr. Nandakumar. The anchors of the entire show Vivek Ramasubramanian and Darshana Bala did a commendable job. The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner.
