Hails from Gangaikondan near Tirunelveli.Schooling at Govt High School,Gangaikondan, PUC at St.John's College,Palayamkottah and then Marine Engineering at Marine engg College,Bombay & Calcutta.Then sailed onboard merchant ships, both Indian & foreign owned, from 1978 to 1990, raising up from Fifth engineer to Chief Engineer, after passing Class-I certificate of competency .Have worked for Ship owning & Ship Management companies in London & Hong Kong before moving to take up the present assignment with Kuwait Oil Tanker Co in their Fleet Quality Control Dept as Superintendent.

Interested in Tamil Literature, specially Bharathi's works and understanding what different religions & philosophies say as the aim of human existence. Lives & teachings of Sri.Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, with his emphasis on harmony of religions & Swami.Vivekananda, with his emphasis on service have been sources of inspiration and are of great personal interest.Closely associated with Sri.Ramakrishna Math, Sri.Ramakrishna Tapovanam,Vivekananda Kendra & with Sri.Ramakrishna Study Circle in Kuwait.

Married to Dr.Gomathi and we are blessed with a son-Abhinav.
