Dr. Purva Hemadri - Treasurer

I was born and brought up in Madras. My schooling was at Good Shepherd's Convent at Madras. My medical course was in Madras Medical College. I lived and worked in the U.K. for 6 years during which time my husband, Dr. Makani Hemadri and I obtained our respective fellowships in surgery and anesthesia (and intensive care).

Gender issues are my pet passion-greater rights for women, female emanicapation etc. Cooking and reading are my other favorite hobbies. We have one daughter Bavya who is 6 years old .
